Founder and CEO
Lieutenant General (Retd) Dr. Asif Mumtaz Sukhera, HI(M), is a distinguished healthcare leader, military strategist, and academician with a career spanning over four decades in medical administration, clinical excellence, and institutional leadership. A graduate of Quaid-e-Azam Medical College, Bahawalpur, he further honed his expertise with a Master’s in Medical Administration from AFPGMI and a Master’s in Community Health and Nutrition. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP).
During his illustrious service in the Pakistan Army, he held key positions within the GHQ Medical Directorate, including Inspector General (IG) Hospitals, Deputy Surgeon General, and ultimately, Surgeon General of the Pakistan Army. His leadership extended internationally when he commanded a United Nations Field Hospital in Sierra Leone as part of a peacekeeping mission.
Beyond military service, Lt. Gen. (Retd) Dr. Sukhera played a pivotal role in healthcare and medical education as Commandant of CMH Quetta and Project Director & Vice Principal of Quetta Institute of Medical Sciences (QIMS). Post-retirement, he continued his impactful leadership as Executive Director & CEO of MedAsk, a healthcare initiative by the Army Welfare Trust.
Currently serving as Vice Chancellor of Mohi-ud-Din Islamic University, Azad Kashmir, he remains deeply engaged in advancing higher education and healthcare. A former member of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, he has significantly contributed to shaping academic policies and medical training standards.
He is also the Founder & CEO of Sakinah Care, a pioneering initiative focused on maternal and neonatal healthcare, reinforcing his lifelong dedication to community health and medical innovation.

Dr Sadia Malick has a vast clinical experience working a as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in Pakistan, UK and Middle East. She is an avid advocate on reducing the mortality.
Dr Malick is a regular speaker in many International conferences and symposia. Her recent talks had been on ambulatory gynaecology, vaccination in pregnancy, breast feeding, menopause, HRT, lifestyle medicine and patient self care.
She is on expert panel for MOHAP (Ministry of Health and Prevention – UAE). She appears on Television and radio in Middle East and Pakistan and shares her views on women healthcare. She has a very engaging audience on many platforms. She is a TEDx speaker. Dr. Malick is a regular guest speaker at MENA – Middle East Women Leaders Summit & Awards and has also chaired many sessions, not to mention the winner of various awards and accolades. She was nominated as “Oxfam’s Most Inspiring Woman’ in Midlands UK. She is a reviewer for international journals, like EJOGRB & BJOG. Dr. Malick is an active researcher and academician and authored book chapters including ‘recurrent miscarriage’ in the Obs & Gynae textbook, ‘High-Risk Pregnancy’ by Prof James.

Maj Gen Dr Viqar Ahmed Khan, HI(M) (Retd) graduated from Nishtar Medical College in 1982 and joined Pakistan Army Medical Corps, where he served on various Command and Staff appointments till his retirement in 2015. The General Officer also commanded Armed Forces Post Graduate Medical Institute (AFPGMI). After retirement from Pakistan Army he served Mohi-ud-Din Islamic University, AJ&K as Vice Chancellor from 2017 to 2021. The General Officer brings with himself a vast experience in healthcare administration. He also serves as Board of Trustees of Al Mujataba Education Trust. In recognition of his meritorious service, the General Officer was awarded Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military) by the President of Pakistan and Commendation by the Chief of Army Staff.He is a specialist in Family Medicine with keen interest in Public Health and deeply involved in social work. The Officer joined Sakinah Health Foundation as Director in 2024.

Dr. Zahra Asif Sukhera is a dedicated pulmonologist and family physician with a strong passion for improving healthcare accessibility, particularly for women in underserved communities. She holds an FCPS in Pulmonology from the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan and an MBBS from Rawalpindi Medical University. With extensive experience in pulmonology, critical care, and medical education, she has served as a Consultant Pulmonologist at Pak-Emirates Military Hospital and as a BLS Instructor at CPSP Islamabad. Currently, she is a Board Member at Sakinah Care, where she plays a pivotal role in shaping healthcare initiatives, advancing maternal and child health programs, and driving impactful community interventions. Beyond her medical expertise, Dr. Zahra is a committed advocate for holistic well-being, balancing her professional endeavors with her role as a devoted mother.
Dr. Khawaja Tasawor Riaz brings 25+ years of experience in healthcare operations and outreach, driving strategic growth and service expansion. At Sakinah Health Foundation, he leads operational excellence and business development, ensuring the scalability and impact of maternal and child health initiatives.
He previously spearheaded the development of a nationwide diagnostic network and, as COO of Riphah International Hospital, demonstrated strong leadership in operations, strategic planning, and business growth. His contributions to postgraduate training programs in pediatrics and gynecology have strengthened healthcare capacity-building, aligning with Sakinah’s mission to enhance maternal and neonatal care in underserved communities.

Nabeel Tahir leads maternal and child health initiatives at Sakinah Health Foundation, driving digital transformation and scalable healthcare solutions. He oversees data-driven intervention tracking, including Clean Birth Kits (CBKs) distribution and anemia management, while fostering strategic partnerships with NGOs, healthcare organizations, and corporate sponsors. Passionate about technology-driven healthcare, Nabeel is committed to enhancing maternal and neonatal outcomes in underserved communities.
