- Women undergo enormous changes during pregnancy and post-natal period that profoundly affect their health and that of the newborn.
- Unfortunately, half a million women die every year due to complications during pregnancy. Among other causes of maternal mortality like poverty, malnutrition and a scarcity of healthcare access, lack of education is a leading cause.
- Sakinah aims to create awareness regarding health issues in pregnancy through training of local midwives and Lady Health workers. Working in collaboration with the local health authorities and optimizing the systems in place, Sakinah will spread consciousness amongst women regarding anemia, malnutrition, regular antenatal checkups and safe delivery.
- We aim to utilize modern technological solutions to spread awareness in both urban and rural landscapes.
